Hiatus

Sorry the blog hasn't been updated, but there were too many things going on at once. Feta and I decided to go on a short retreat to Berkeley Springs, WV. It was a nice reprieve, except for our rough beginning...a flat tire, plus the spare being flat too! After a mini adventure with the tow truck driver, his odd flirting with me and some lost translation, we had patched the tire and went on to our destination. We knew we had to replace the tires prior to the trip, but we postponed it. We came home and learned that our washer wasn't working well. Meanwhile, we had to figure out our schedules with the babysitter, the bus schedule and work. That is still up in the air, even today.

After a visit to the laundromat, we decided we had to call the repairman and see what's up with the washer. He had diagnosed that it needed a new tub and motor which value was equivalent to a new washer. That week, we had already paid for all new tires. A few days later, I realized Mallory wasn't being herself and decided to put her under doctor's care. She stayed in Lynchburg for 8-9 days, which meant 2 hours one way visitations from us. Good thing we had replaced the tires! Our friends and colleagues kicked in and helped us out with food, dinners, and babysitting. They even threw in cleaning the house!

In between, Feta and I shopped for a new washer and figured that we might as well feed the black hole (which is the credit card debt) since we were on a roll. Hopefully, we will not have any more crises in the next 50 years.



Meanwhile, look at these munchkins. Those moments are priceless, no matter what life throws at you.

People gave me this quote, "When handed lemons, make lemonade" but I tell them, "NO! You can have it back!" and throw the lemons back to them.
